Are you sitting on sawdust or other woodworking residues of any kind, do you own a forest or get a lot of residues from your wood processor? Perhaps you want a reliable all-round machine for the production of both feed and straw pellets alongside wood pellet production? Then Skånekraft's PTO-driven wood pellet press is a must, our bestseller for agricultural customers.

Powered by tractor PTO

This wood pellet press differs from our other pellet presses as it has no engine, it is instead powered by the tractor's PTO (540 rpm). This gives the pellet press tremendous power, which increases the production rate and minimises downtime. The power shaft is largely maintenance-free, but the gearbox is lubricated with transmission oil (85W-90 or 85W-140), suitable transmission oils are available at, for example, Mekonomen and Biltema. More on this in the user manual.

Easy to assemble

The wood pellet press comes in a sturdy wooden box so as not to be damaged in the delivery to your home. Assembly and running-in of the machine are very simple steps, in practice only the ejector plate, hopper and wheels are assembled by you. Due to the weight of the machine, it does not hurt to be two people when mounting the wheels. After assembly, the machine must be lubricated and is then ready to be started up for the first run. Everything and more is listed in the product manual.

Easy to use

The pellets are produced under heat and high pressure in the machine's rolling mill. The high heat required for the process is created by friction from the rollers pressing against the die. The pressure is created when the hot pellet mass is pressed down through the conical holes of the die. These two aspects make the pellets formed hard and shiny. Completely on par with purchased pellets.

The base material, i.e. the sawdust, must always be fine. The equipment is not capable of handling wood chips. In addition to this, the sawdust must have a moisture content of around 10-16 % in order for pellets to be formed. The optimum moisture content varies slightly from species to species. Generally speaking, hardwood binds at a lower moisture content (around 8-10 %) while softwood binds at a slightly higher one (12-16%). Don't forget that we are available by phone and email on weekdays to help you if you need tips or advice with your equipment.

Feed production and pressing of straw pellets is generally even easier than pressing wood pellets as the raw materials are often very rich in natural binders such as sugars and starches.
